Nils Holger Moormann: Zoll D by Lukas Buol

With this design, a timeless piece of furniture returns, defined by reduction, versatility, and structural clarity. Originally created in 1993 by Swiss designers Lukas Buol and Marco Zünd, the concept follows a simple yet refined logic: all elements are connected by interlocking only, with no need for tools, screws, or additional fasteners. The result is a stable, flexible system that can be individually configured, expanded, and reassembled at any time.

The construction is based on precisely folded metal shelves combined with custom-fit boxes that also serve as supports for the next level. Thanks to their symmetrical design, the boxes can be inserted in four directions, allowing the shelving to remain open and functional from all sides. Adjustable feet ensure stability, even on uneven floors.

The latest addition to the range is a version in untreated aluminium, lending the shelving a raw, industrial character that highlights its technical precision. Alternatively, it is available in powder-coated steel in light grey or anthracite. Production takes place in a regional metalworking facility, with a strong focus on accuracy and quality craftsmanship.
